on Sign Placement Near Roads
Officials with the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) are alerting anyone placing political signage along the state’s roadways of the rules connected to the practice.
Under state law, political road signs are permitted 30-days prior to an election and must be removed within 30-days after an election.
The state primary date is Tuesday, September 13, 2022, and signs can be placed beginning Sunday, August 14, 2022.
Transportation workers will remove non-compliant signage. Each violation is a $25 fine plus a $15 fee to recover the sign.
