Remembering those that made the ultimate sacrifice

Remembering Pearl Harbor

In August, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Pearl Harbor.

The military base, which is still active, is home to the two bookends of WWII.

The USS Arizona remains the final resting place for over 1,000 men that died during the bombing of the Japanese in 1941. The USS Missouri, which saw the surrender of the Japanese on its deck in 1945, is now retired in the same harbor.

The original bullet holes still preserved in the hangar windows, the signed treaty aboard the USS Missouri and the solemn respect given to the soldiers at the burial site on the USS Arizona was a true reminder of the sacrifices given by so many individuals to our nation just one lifetime ago.

Let us live a life worth their sacrifice.
