The Public Education Compensation Committee is a 13-member board that will work with educators, school administrators, parents, and local school boards to evaluate current rates of educator compensation and make recommendations for improving Delaware’s ability to compete with states across the Mid-Atlantic region¹. The members of the committee are as follows:

How do we make recommendations?
The Public Education Compensation Committee will work with educators, school administrators, parents, and local school boards to evaluate current rates of educator compensation and make recommendations for improving Delaware’s ability to compete with states across the Mid-Atlantic region¹. The committee will hold its first meeting on or before August 1, 2022, with a final report due by November 15, 2023⁶. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any information on how the committee will make recommendations. Would you like me to look up more information?
MEETING DESCRIPTION
The Public Education Compensation Committee will review Delaware’s educator compensation structure and its ability to compete with regional school districts, Delaware’s private business sector, and other governmental agencies and to develop recommendations to establish a new compensation structure for educators in Delaware. Those interested in giving public comment should send their name, organization, and topic to Tina.Shockley@doe.k12.de.us at least seven days prior to the meeting if possible.
