The House of Representatives’ committee assignments for the current 151st Delaware General Assembly were recently released.
Committees play a key role in the legislative process by vetting new legislation. Bills must typically be considered and released by a committee before they are eligible to be debated by the full chamber.
The Speaker of the House selects membership for all House committees, with majority Democrats holding all leadership positions as well as a numerical membership advantage within each group.
