‘The silent majority’: At boat parade, Delaware Trump supporters express 2020 optimism

Boat parades are in vogue.  In the era of coronavirus and social distancing, unable to attend their wildly popular campaign rallies, supporters of President Donald Trump have taken to the water in recent weeks to show their support for the incumbent ahead of the 2020 presidential election. Parades have happened in places like Florida, South Carolina, and last week, on the Delaware River, where a Trump boat gathering floated right past Philadelphia. On Saturday, a parade near Clearwater, Florida, was attempting a world record boat parade. To the north, hundreds of Delaware Trump supporters filled Massey’s Landing in Millsboro by land and water to revel in the festivities. Trump flags dotted the area around the docks and on nearly every boat. Many wore red “Make America Great Again” hats. There were chants of “USA” and “four more years.”
