After being canceled last year because of the pandemic, Caroling on The Circle in Georgetown is back on this year. The caroling event will take place outdoors, weather permitting:
Monday (December 13th) at 6:30 p.m.
In addition, the 38th annual food drive has kicked off and runs through the end of December. According to Sussex County, the public is asked to do their part to “Pack the Pod” – a 14-foot by 7-foot portable storage shed that will be set up at The Circle later this month – with donated food items.

Carols will fill the air once again over downtown Georgetown!
Sussex County government will raise the curtain on its yearly food drive to support community food banks with a holiday celebration, Caroling on The Circle, in downtown Georgetown, set for 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13. Join us for an evening of music and fellowship as the public comes together for a worthwhile cause to help the less fortunate in Sussex County.
WBOC-TV personality Jimmy Hoppa will host an evening of traditional and Spanish carols performed by long-time favorites Kevin Short and Ed Shockley, as well as the El Centro Cultural group. There will even be a visit from Santa Claus!
The event is free to attend. Participants only have to bring non-perishable food items for donation.
Food items will be collected that night, but donations can be dropped off from now until the end of December, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the County Administrative Offices building, next to the courthouse, in Georgetown.
Caroling on The Circle will be an outdoor-only event this year, and participants are encouraged to monitor the U.S. Centers for Disease Control for the latest health guidance. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be canceled.
