Sussex GOP
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve as your State Senator. Throughout the course of this historically challenging time, please know that my work on your behalf, has and will continue to be done, in a thoughtful, pragmatic and bipartisan manner, with a focus on results and delivering for the people of the Cape Region.
As a newly appointed member of the Joint Finance Committee, we achieved early passage of a fiscally prudent operating budget along with a capital budget reflecting the breadth and depth of the long term needs we face here at home, from road projects to beach replenishment and school construction. We funded pension and cost of living increases for our dedicated state retirees and added $17.2 million to lift reimbursement rates for direct support professionals serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In addition, scores of Cape Region non for profits, who stepped up to the plate to support this community throughout the COVID crisis, received increases in state funding that balanced out expenditures that kept the neediest among our community fed, clothed and cared for.
As grateful as I am, I am cognizant that more support is needed and while increased demands will continue to be a challenge, together, we will face those demands with competence and care in order to make continued progress and improvement to better the health and welfare of our neighbors, friends and future generations of Delawareans.
Please continue to contact me at my office with questions, suggestions or concerns as my staff and I will do the best we can to be as responsive as possible and do all we can to help.

With very best wishes and deep gratitude, I am, very truly yours,
Dr. Ernesto B. “Ernie” López
Senator
District 6, Lewes
